Union Bank has announced that it is closing its Kitsap and North Olympic Peninsula branches as part of a move to shut 20 locations in the state. The bank will close its Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Sequim and Poulsbo branches Feb. 20, followed on Feb. 27 by closures of branches in Bremerton, Silverdale and Gig Harbor, according to Union Bank spokesman Alan Gulick.
"We feel quite fortunate to add the Aberdeen cluster of quality news products to Sound Publishing,” said Gloria Fletcher, president of Sound Publishing. "Of course, we value the products but, more importantly, we value the people and the communities these products faithfully serve."
Tara-Jeanette Primm opened her shop on June 30 with five employees and a smattering of customers waiting for her to cut the ribbon at her opening ceremony.
Kitsap County had more inventory of homes on the market and homes were listing at a slightly higher price in May as compared to May of last year.
F.R.O.G. Soap is hopping all around these days. Owner Laura Kneib has moved into a brick-and-mortar location in downtown Bremerton. Kneib once created soap in her home's kitchen.
