Kitsap County HIV/AIDS Foundation’s Q Center has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Pride Foundation, a Seattle-based gay rights organization. The center will receive the grant at the foundation’s Washington Peninsulas Grant Celebration at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bremerton Nov. 12. The Q Center provides programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight ally youth in Kitsap including social game nights to workshops, most recently on HIV prevention. The money will help support the program grow including having more resources for its drop-in center and engaging more volunteers. It is located at 2841 NW Kitsap Place in Silverdale.
