West Sound Cycling Club Saturday ride:
The West Sound Cycling Club will hold its weekly social ride on Saturday, May 14. The 58-mile ride will be on Bainbridge Island starting at 9:30 a.m. from 11600 Olympic View Dr.

Navy museums seek volunteer docents:
The Puget Sound Navy Museum in Bremerton and the Naval Undersea Museum at Keyport are recruiting volunteer docents. The responsibilities of docents include greeting visitors and leading tours at the museums.
There will be an informational luncheon for those interested at 11:30 a.m. May 17 at the Naval Undersea Museum, 1 Garnett Way, Keyport. Free lunch will be provided and there is ample parking. For more information, call (360) 396-5547 or (360) 627-2274.

Bremerton Public Safety and Parks Committee meeting:
The next regular meeting of the Bremerton City Council’s Public Safety and Parks Committee is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 in the council conference room located on the sixth floor of the Norm Dicks Government Center, 345 Sixth St., Bremerton.
Council members assigned to serve on this Committee include Jim McDonald, Adam Brockus, Roy Runyon and Cecil McConnell.
Events at the Hi-Fidelity Lounge:
The Hi-Fidelity Lounge, 2711 Sixth St., Bremerton, offers open mic nights every Sunday through the end of the month beginning at 8 p.m.
American and soul artist from Portland, Ore., Brooke Parrot, will perform at 9 p.m. May 20 and alternative rock band, Back from Blind, of Bremerton, will perform at 9 p.m. May 28.
Central Kitsap Community Council meeting:
The Central Kitsap Community Council will hold a regular meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 at the Water and Fire District Community Room, 5300 Newberry Hill Road, Silverdale.
The meeting will include an update on the status of Newberry Hill Heritage Park as well as presentations from the Brownsville, Illahee and Silverdale ports. The agenda is available online at www.kitsapgov.com/dcd/ckcc.
West Sound Officers Spouses Club meeting:
The West Sound Officers Spouses Club will have its monthly general membership meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 17 at the Bangor Community Center, 3195 Bonefish Circle at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor.
The club is dedicated to supporting the morale, cohesion and friendship of all active duty and retired officer spouses in the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard living in the West Sound area.

Mixed media works display at Old Town Silverdale gallery:
Acrylics, inks and mixed media works by Port Townsend artist Patricia Zukas will be on display at Old Town Custom Framing and Gallery, 3295 NW Lowell St., Silverdale. Bremerton High School alumni reunion luncheon:
The Bremerton High School alumni from the class of 1938 through 1944 invite all past alumni of the high school and friends to the 20th annual reunion luncheon on Tuesday, July 19.
A social hour will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch to follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 4131 Pine Road NE, Bremerton.
The cost for a salmon or roast beef lunch is $22. Checks can be made out to Bremerton High School Alumni and sent to June Smith, 213 Apple St., Bremerton, Washington, 98310. The deadline for receiving payment is July 14.
Grand opening of first housing complex at Bay Vista:
The Bremerton Housing Authority will celebrate the grand opening of The Summit at Bay Vista, the new 83-unit apartment community at the former West Park site in Bremerton Tuesday, May 17.
The complex is located at 4650 Bay Vista Blvd. and a tour will begin at 3 p.m. with a program to follow at 4 p.m. For more information, contact the housing authority at (360) 616-7241.
Kitsap County Police Memorial Ceremony:
The Kitsap County Police Memorial Ceremony will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 5505 Kitsap Way, Bremerton. The ceremony will honor officers who served the community.
Crystal Grange monthly breakfast in Brownsville:
Crystal Grange will honor armed forces and military personnel at its monthly breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at 2160 NE Paulson Road in Brownsville.
The cost is $4 and the menu includes pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage and coffee.
90th birthday celebration:
Former International Toastmistress Club president Raynola F. Blackshear will be honored by Council 1 of the northwest region on May 21 at Centro Latino Headquarters in Tacoma for the celebration of her 90th birthday. The event will begin at 10 a.m.
