KITSAP QUILTERS: Kitsap Quilters will host “It’s Rainin’ Quilts” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 15 and Feb. 16 at President’s Hall at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. The quilt show will have featured artists, a cafe, demonstrations, a quilt raffle, a merchants mall and more than 250 quilts on display. Info: (360) 373-4798.

CHESS: The Kitsap County Chess Club will host games at the downtown Bremerton library from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays during the month of January. Info, (360) 377-3955.

TAX PREPARATION: Tax counseling requires classroom training, to be presented in early January and the successful completion of the IRS certification open book exam. There will be several Tax-Aide sites throughout the county to assist taxpayers from Feb. 1 to April 15. Volunteers are assigned to a site under the leadership of a local coordinator. As your community newspaper, the Patriot invites all service organizations, community groups and others with community events upcoming to send us an e-mail at editor@bremertonpatriot.com or give us a call at (360) 782-1581, so we can let everyone know what’s going on.

Ongoing events like group meetings will be included in the “Ongoing” part of the calendar, which will appear on as space allows basis. Everything else will be listed by date or as “Upcoming.”

In order to make that happen, we need you, our faithful readers, to help us out. Simply put without you, it won’t be possible.
