William ‘Bill’ L. Gordon, 78

William “Bill” L. Gordon died Sept. 27, 2008. The Bremerton resident was 78.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1929 in Holliday, Texas to William and Goldie (Fort) Gordon. He married Ruth Goldsmith in 1958 in Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death in 1996.

Mr. Gordon served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1958. He worked as a warehouseman at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Bremerton Elks, VFW Post 239 and a life member of Cooties. He also was a member of Charleston Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was Oct. 2 at Lewis Funeral Chapel followed by a private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. An online memorial can be viewed at www.lewischapel.com.
