The Bremerton High School Pay It Forward Scholarship group recently received a $10,000 grant from the Norcliffe Foundation of Seattle.
The grant money will be used to help fund the scholarships which are given in the amount of $10,000 each May to worthy Bremerton High School graduates. The 2008 recipient, Kris Evron Matro, is currently studying pre-nursing at Olympic College.
The unique scholarship targets low income students with GPAs of 2.5 and above, who are among the first in their family to attend college.
Additionally, recipients must be willing to Pay It Forward, as in the book, written by Catherine Ryan Hyde or the movie, by doing a significant good deed or community service at least three times.
