On Aug. 8, Kingston will host its inaugural Slug Hunt at the SLUG inFESTation.

Organizers know slugs tend to show up in the spring; the new summertime festival hopes to create its own, more artistic infestation. More than 100 hand-decorated slugs will be dispersed throughout Kingston's local businesses and haunts.

Slug hunters can pick up their licenses, and a handy-dandy slug hunting map, at the Kingston Art Gallery or the Chamber of Commerce, and then on Aug. 8, hunting season opens.

That night, from 5-8 p.m., have your slug signed by the artist, get a certificate of authenticity and more at the Kingston Art Gallery.
