Trudi Peek, long-time artist and member of Poulsbo’s Verksted Gallery, put down her art tools and took up her writing tools to create “Touching Earth, Touching Sky.” The published tome is available for purchase at the Verksted Gallery and Amazon.

Peek has painted a story of self-discovery, a journey into the many corners of a strong Montana woman’s life, revealing her secret thoughts and intimate struggles, her loves and her regrets all set among the trappings of her everyday life.

“Touching Earth, Touching Sky” also delivers the message that unsullied land is essential for the human spirit, and that by fighting for Mother Nature’s gifts there is hope for the future.

Peek is known as the Verksted Gallery’s “Cat Lady” because she paints stones with images of cats. She also creates intricate glass mosaics. As a native Montanan, she sets her stories in the Big Sky country, including several essays and stories in Montana publications. She is an associate member of Women Who Write The West.

There will be a book signing and reception for Peek from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, at the Verksted Gallery.
