Kassie Korich, editor of the Central Kitsap Reporter, also has been named editor of the Bremerton Patriot.

Both papers are owned by Sound Publishing, which also owns the Port Orchard Independent, the North Kitsap Herald, the Bainbridge Review, the monthly Kingston Community News and the Kitsap Free Daily. Sound publishes the U.S. Navy’s Northwest Navigator, as well.

Both the Patriot and the Reporter will be published in the company’s Silverdale office, along with the Navigator and the Daily.

The Patriot will be distributed weekly, on Saturdays, as will the Reporter.

“Kassie Korich is a rising star in this company, having moved from intern to reporter to editor of one paper and now editor of a second paper in just a few short years,” said Rob White, publisher of the Patriot, the Reporter, the Navigator and the Daily.

Korich has been with Sound Publishing for four years. She is a 2002 graduate of Klahowya Secondary School and Olympic College through the Running Start program. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Washington-Tacoma.

Kitsap News Group is a division of Sound Publishing, the largest publisher of community newspapers in the Pacific Northwest — including a total of 34 papers throughout the Puget Sound region.
