Reckless driving reports lead to DUI arrest
June 17, 2009 · 10:48 AM
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) began receiving multiple reports of an erratic vehicle traveling northbound on State Route 3 from Kitsap Way at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Seven reports were received reporting the vehicle's erratic driving, which included passing on the shoulder, weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed, cutting vehicles off and forcing at least one vehicle off the road. Troopers were able to stop the vehicle on the Finn Hill exit in Poulsbo.
The 23-year-old male driver of Gig Harbor was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, driving while license is suspended, an outstanding felony warrant from Seattle for auto theft and a misdemeanor warrant for fourth-degree assault from Port Orchard Police Department.
He was booked into Kitsap County Jail. His vehicle was impounded. WSP encourages motorists observing aggressive and unsafe driving to dial 911 from their cell phones and report the vehicle's description (including color, make, model and license plate number) along with a direction of travel.
