Is it summer yet?

Even though summer is just around the corner, Kitsap entered June with rain and more rain with the occasional brief sunbreak.
All that precipitation may not let up for awhile.
“It’s not looking like it will be anytime soon,” said Johnny Burg, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle.
Burg said the weather so far has been unusual for this time of year in the Puget Sound region, with temperatures, high and lows, just below normal.
The culprit, he said, is a storm that should be heading closer to Alaska but has stayed south.
However, the colder, wet spring is not a preview of the rest of the year, he said. Long range forecasters are predicting a normal summer.
