A pair of 14-foot statues at Fourth Street and Pacific Avenue in Bremerton have attracted plenty of attention since their installation last month. Nearby businesses say they’ve seen many visitors at the fish and fisherman statues; some of them take pictures with the creations, others take issue with their cost.

Jul 20 2010, 12:34 PM A children’s novel by Silverdale author Crystal Marcos is now available online and at Pages Books and Monica’s Waterfront Bakery & Cafe in Silverdale. “Bellyache: A Delicious Tale” follows 10-year-old Peter Fischer, who goes to work at his grandfather’s candy shop on a school holiday. Written “in the vein of the classic tales of Roald Dahl, this dangerously delectable debut shares the extraordinary misadventure of a boy who did not know when to say when,” the book’s cover says. “Bellyache” also features illustrations from a local artist.
