August 20, 2010 · 4:20 PM
A 61-year-old Bremerton man reportedly ran over a Port Orchard man trying to repossess his van during an Aug. 13 confrontation.
The Port Orchard man, 42, was on the job repossessing vehicles at about noon when he drove past the 61-year-old man’s home in the 1100 block of Poindexter Avenue and saw a van he had tried to repossess for years, according to police reports.
The 42-year-old stopped and walked up to the 2002 white Oldsmobile Silhouette to repossess it when the 61-year-old emerged from his residence and ran to the van, starting the engine. As the 42-year-old stood in front of the van with his right hand on the windshield, the 61-year-old drove past him, hitting the 42-year-old’s right hand and knee. The driver was last seen on Callow Avenue, where the 42-year-old lost sight of him.
The 42-year-old refused medical aid.
