Bremerton court closes Monday for relocation
August 25, 2010 · 8:57 PM
Those contesting speeding and parking tickets will have to wait a few more days for their hearings while the Bremerton Municipal Court relocates.
The court will be closed Aug. 30 through Sept. 1 while furniture and equipment are moved to the court’s new location at 550 Park Avenue, the old Kitsap Bank building.
There will be no phone or fax service during the closure, but will be operational again Sept. 2. The court will be closed for a furlough day Sept. 3.
Defendants in jail will have their hearings at the Port Orchard Municipal Court.
The Bremerton City Council approved the city’s $1.7 million purchase of the old Kitsap Bank building for the municipal court in March. Bremerton has been renting the current court space at 900 Pacific Avenue for four years.
