A man who tried to climb into his ex-girlfriend’s bedroom window Saturday in East Bremerton instead found the woman’s relative in the room and was arrested for burglary.

The 19-year-old man used a ladder to climb to a second story bedroom window of a residence that belonged to his ex-girlfriend’s 65-year-old grandmother at about 12:30 a.m., according to Kitsap County sheriff’s reports.

The bedroom was occupied by a 17-year-old relative of his ex-girlfriend, and when the man opened the window, the girl shouted and ran out of the room. The 65-year-old woman called 911. Both the 17-year-old girl and the 19-year-old ex-girlfriend said the man was not welcome.

After questioning the man’s 23-year-old friend in the driveway and an hour-long K9 search, sheriff’s deputies tracked down the man on Huckle Drive. He was booked into Kitsap County jail for investigation of burglary.
