Free yard waste disposal available to Kitsap County residents

Kitsap County residents will be able to dispose their yard waste for free at the Emu Composting Facility in Hansville on Yard Waste Amnesty Day, which is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Railroad ties, plastic, tires, scrap metal and hazardous waste will not be accepted. Materials accepted include wood debris, brush, grass, branches and plywood.

There is no volume restriction for residents. Commercial businesses must pay the regular fee.

The facility is located at 7890 NE Ecology Road, Hansville.
