A 71-year-old Bremerton man reportedly lost his hearing aid Oct. 29 while being attacked by a “fat dachshund” in front of his home.

The man flagged down a police officer near the intersection of 17th Street and Park Avenue Nov. 3 to report the dog attack. He told police he was walking to his car in the 1700 block of Park Avenue when a “fat dachshund” knocked him to the ground, dislodging his cochlear implant, according to police reports. He said the dog bit him once on the shoulder, and when he hit the dog with his bag, it left the area with a collie and has not been seen since.

The man has been unable to find his hearing aid.
