Kitsap Transit continues to look for a bus stop relocation site off of Kitsap Mall property after mall management told the transit agency last month that operations at the current transfer station on the west side of the mall will terminate by the middle of February. The mall is making way for a new retailer.

John Clauson, service development director for Kitsap Transit, said Dec. 2 that he is in talks with mall management on potentially relocating the bus stop elsewhere on site, but continues to seek alternatives. He has three options he’s looking into that are within close proximity to the mall.

“We’re in conversation with the mall,” Clauson said. “They’re still reviewing the options as far as the potential to relocate on site.”

Rene Morris, senior property manager at the mall, said Dec. 2 that they are trying to come up with a solution and will hopefully have one in two weeks.
