An 8-year-old Port Townsend boy sought in an Amber Alert early Tuesday morning was found in Bremerton with his mother, who is suspected of abducting her son.

At 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a statewide Amber Alert was issued for the boy, who was last seen Dec. 26 at his grandparents’ house with his mother, who does not have custody of the boy but saw him during a supervised visitation, according to a statement from the Port Townsend Police Department.

A tip was called in to the Bremerton Police Department later that morning and officers found the boy with his mother at 7:20 a.m. in the 100 block of Bloomington Avenue, Bremerton Lt. Pete Fisher said. The boy was unharmed and the woman was taken to Jefferson County jail for investigation of custodial interference.
