ISPN Sports to broadcast year in review
Kevin Mac will broadcast the ISPN Sports Show Saturday, which this week will feature in Bremerton Olympic College basketball. The show will feature interviews with players and coaches. ISPN will also look back with a 2010 retrospect on www.ispnsports.com.
Kingston’s SoundRunner to serve Seahawks playoff game
The Port of Kingston’s SoundRunner passenger ferry will serve the Jan. 8 Seattle Seahawks playoff game against the New Orleans Saints at Qwest Field.
The Kingston Express will depart the port at 11 a.m. and return 45 minutes after the end of the game according to a notice on the port’s website. Kickoff for the National Football Conference Wildcard game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
Eagles girls bowling defeats Sequim High
The Klahowya Secondary School girls bowling team beat Sequim High School 7-0 Tuesday at All-Star Lanes in Silverdale.
Klahowya scored totals of 731 and 801 in its first two games to clinch an Olympic League victory. The Eagles’ total pin fall score of 1,822 bested Sequim’s 1,479.
Klahowya’s Courtney Snellenberg finished with a high game score of 181, while teammate Jacqui Hornbeck totaled a high series score of 311.
Sequim’s Sage Brown led all bowlers with a game score of 222 and series score of 375.
Olympic High beats North Kitsap High, 49-48
The Olympic High School girls basketball team improved to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in league play Tuesday night when they beat North Kitsap High School, 49-48.
Senior Shannon Jackson led Olympic with 17 points, 17 rebounds and five steals. Ashli Payne scored 11 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Trojans. Jalyn Halstead also scored 12 points.
The turning point for Olympic came at the end of the first quarter when the Lady Trojans led 19-7.
Olympic has a pivotal game this week against Sequim High School. A victory would secure a third-place tie in the Olympic League standings. The Lady Trojans would have the tiebreaker against Sequim with a head-to-head win advantage.
