February 4, 2011 · Updated 11:58 AM
A 49-year-old Bremerton woman was arrested for assault after waving multiple knives at her boyfriend in front of his 11-year-old son.
A 48-year-old Bremerton man called 911 from the treehouse behind his house in the 400 block of Gold Creek Road Northwest at 2:18 a.m., according to reports from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. When deputies arrived, the man reported getting into an argument with his girlfriend after she had come home from a night of drinking. After he told her to leave the house, she grabbed a kitchen knife with a six-inch blade and swung it in a slashing motion toward him. She soon dropped the knife and grabbed a bigger kitchen knife with a 12-inch blade. He grabbed a dining room chair for defense and pushed the woman back with it, causing her to drop the knife.
The man and his 11-year-old son later escaped to the treehouse in the backyard, where his 17-year-old daughter and a friend were staying and called 911 with one of the girls’ cell phones.
The woman was taken to Kitsap County jail for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon.
