The 188-car Walla Walla ferry replaced the 124-car Kitsap on the Seattle-Bremerton ferry run Jan. 30 for a scheduled maintenance period for the Kitsap.

The Kitsap will undergo inspections of the hull, rudder and propeller and paint touch-ups, among other routine checks, according to Washington State Ferries officials.

The Walla Walla will stand in for Kitsap until April.
