Several Kitsap County restaurants have received threatening phone calls in the past couple weeks from people falsely claiming to represent the Kitsap County Health Board.

The impersonators request personal information, including home phone numbers of restaurant employees, and threaten to fine those who do not cooperate. The Health District has received reports of these calls starting the week of Jan. 17, according to a statement.

Restaurant owners who receive a call demanding personal information are advised to get the phone number of the caller and contact Bonnie Petek, Food Program Manager for the Health District at (360) 337-4701. The calls can also be reported to the Federal Trade Commission at (887) 382-4357.
