A 43-year-old Bremerton woman had just stepped off the ferry from Seattle Feb. 26 when she found a man cutting through the soft top of her Jeep in a downtown parking garage.

The woman had parked her car on the top floor of the parking garage at Burwell Street and Washington Avenue while she and a 38-year-old man spent the evening in Seattle, according to Bremerton police reports.

The man they saw on her car was a black man in his early 20s. The 38-year-old man chased him until he escaped down the west stairwell. Three one-foot diameter holes were cut into the Jeep Wrangler’s soft top on the driver side, passenger side and above the driver’s seat. The damage was valued at $750. Police could not locate the man.
