The Port of Bremerton’s South Kitsap Industrial Park has made the short list of sites being considered for a Washington State Department of Corrections reception center, according to a statement.

The Bremerton site along with sites in Mason and Thurston counties were selected based on a range of physical, environmental, engineering and community characteristics. A total of 11 groups submitted 15 properties.

The department expects to have a site identified by December.
