U.S. Coast Guardsman at Bangor arrested for indecent exposure
A 30-year-old active duty U.S. Coast Guard assigned to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor was arrested and booked into the Kitsap County jail March 7 for indecent exposure, according to a report from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
The man was first seen March 5 in the parking lot of Clear Creek Elementary School sitting in his car without a shirt on. At about 8:20 a.m., a para educator at the school saw him sitting in the driver’s seat and when she walked closer to the car, the man threw a cloth over his lap and drove away. The woman was under the impression that the man was naked, according to the report. The school’s principal had heard from another employee that during the week of March 21, a few Central Kitsap High School students were followed by a naked man while on base at Bangor.
On March 7, a Kitsap County deputy received a call at about 1:07 p.m. asking to pick up a man who was in custody for indecent exposure at Bangor.
The man’s 2007 white Ford Focus has been impounded by the sheriff’s office and deputies have a warrant to search the vehicle, spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said.
