A 29-year-old Bremerton man was arrested for stealing $1 out of a Diamond Parking collection box May 14.

A Bremerton Police Department officer, who was on bike patrol duty, saw the man picking at the parking collection box at about 4:40 p.m. at Burwell Street and Washington Avenue.

The man began to ride on a bicycle toward the marina and the police called out and told him to stop. He obeyed and before the officer questioned him, he said that all he had was $1 and a pair of tweezers. The officer searched the man and found $1 that was crumpled up and the tweezers in his pockets. He was arrested for third-degree theft and booked into Kitsap County jail.
