Two charged after shooting at Bremerton police

Two Bremerton men accused of shooting at police last week during a car chase on the Warren Avenue Bridge were charged Tuesday.
No officers were injured in the incident last Friday afternoon, but two bullets struck one of the police cars, police said.
Officers did not return fire, but were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the two men.
Ryan Vincent Bush, 19, was charged with first-degree and second-degree assault, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the Kitsap County jail roster. Bush is accused of being the shooter.
Sean Lewis Lampton Bright, 19, was charged with first-degree assault as well as attempting to elude police and is suspected of driving the vehicle.
Police were initially called to investigate an assault. During the initial assault, “racial slurs were thrown around,” said Bremerton Police Sgt. Kevin Crane. Both the suspects are white, he said.
Officers had begun pursuing the vehicle at about 4:28 p.m., which was traveling on Warren Avenue.
Two officers in patrol cars were poised in the oncoming lane to join the chase when Bush allegedly shot at the officers.
One bullet struck a fender, the other hit the wheel well, flattening one of the car tires.
Officers were able to stop the car by bumping the rear of the fleeing vehicle, causing it to spin around.
