June 24, 2011 · Updated 1:15 PM
A 27-year-old Bremerton man called police June 8 to report a man he didn’t know, but claimed to know him, had threatened his life over Facebook.
The man showed a Bremerton police officer the message, which stated, “You have a death warrant on your head.” The Bremerton man responded to the message asking the man, who according to Facebook is from New York, who he was and that he had the wrong person. The suspect responded with a message that read, “Yeah, I know who you are and let me tell you ... your one dead man.”
The 27-year-old and the other man are not “friends” on Facebook and there is no other information on the suspect. The Bremerton man was advised to contact 911 if he received further threats.
