The Washington State Medicaid program is the first health care payer to sign up for a new statewide Health Information Exchange that will allow providers, labs, pharmacies, and others to electronically exchange health information, according to a statement from the state Health Care Authority.

OneHealthPort Health Information Exchange was funded mainly through an $11.3 million grant with the federal Office of the National Coordinator and supported by private contributions from OneHealthPort and the Washington Healthcare Forum. For more information, visit www.hca.wa.gov.
