A 44-year-old woman who now lives in Las Vegas contacted Bremerton police July 17 after receiving a text message from a 44-year-old Bremerton man with whom she has not had contact in a long time.

The woman said she knew him when they were in ninth grade and that they were speaking before but their friendship ended “long ago.”

She said that they are not in any type of relationship and she had made it clear in the past that she does not want any contact from him.

The text message was not threatening and stated that he thinks about her often. Although it was not threatening, she told police she was concerned because it came out of nowhere. In the past, he told her that if law enforcement ever got involved, the situation would be “really bad” for the both of them.

The woman plans to seek a no contact order.
