Extra law enforcement out for DUI suspects

Extra law enforcement officers will be out looking for drunk drivers Aug. 19 through Sept. 5 as the annual “Drive Hammered, Get Nailed” campaign returns to Kitsap County. This year will be the first time patrols will be held under “Hailey’s Law,” a new law requiring cars be towed and impounded for at least 12 hours of all those arrested for driving under the influence, according to a statement from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
