“Running for Shelter” a 5-kilometer run and walk raised $2,500 to go toward two Bremerton shelters for homeless women and men.

Event organizers will present a check to Stella Maris at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29 and to the Benedict House at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1.

The inaugural event last month was coordinated by members of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Parish.
