Kitsap County voters overwhelmingly rejected the Veterans and Human Services Levy with 61 percent of those counted voting no to 38 percent voting in favor.

The levy sought to raise more than $1.3 million annually for five years by adding $.05 in additional property tax to every $1,000 in value.

With an estimated 25,000 ballots left to count, the unofficial results will be updated on Nov. 9. The election will be certified on Nov. 29.
