City council members to discuss budget and shoreline tonight

November 23, 2011 · Updated 12:17 PM

Bremerton City Council District 3 council member Adam Brockus will host a meeting to discuss 2012 budget issues and county shoreline land-use on tonight, at the Norm Dicks Government Center from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

The Shoreline Master Program is a land-use plan which looks at appropriate shoreline uses, including development, public access, and protection of Kitsap County’s 230 miles of saltwater and freshwater shorelines.

The plan was last updated ten years ago and is required by state law to bring any additional updates to the plan by 2012.

Nicole Floyd of the Department of Community Development will talk about sustainability and shoreline-usage as the featured guest speaker.

2012 budget issues will feature guest speaker Becky Hasart, Director of financial services.
