Afternoon collision near Port Orchard sends one woman to hospital for treatment

The Washington State Patrol reported a collision occurred at 2:57 p.m. today, Nov. 12 near Port  Orchard.

A 56-year-old man from Port Orchard was traveling southbound on Phillips Road Southeast and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of state Route 16. A vehicle driven by 41-year-old Port Orchard man collided with the vehicle driven by the 56-year-old man.

The two drivers were not injured. A 41-year-old woman passenger in the second car was treated and a nearby hospital and released.

The state patrol report stated drugs or alcohol were involved. The collision is still under investigation.
