United Way needs cans to create hunger awareness exhibit
July 4, 2008 · Updated 10:22 AM
Rice Fergus Miller Architecture & Planning, in coordination with United Way of Kitsap County, is again sponsoring an exhibition event known as CanStruction. Cans of non-perishable food items will be used to create a structure which will be on display from May 3 to May 10 in Kitsap Mall to promote awareness of hunger.
This years structure is a BoaCANstrictor. Rice Fergus Miller and United Way want to collect 1,000 tuna cans and 400 diced tomatoes to build the structure. After the display is taken down on May 11, all of the cans will be sent to local food banks to help aid in the shortages they currently face.
Donations can be made to United Way of Kitsap County for CanStruction. For more information, contact Rice Fergus Miller Architecture & Planning at (360) 377-8773.
