Bremerton Fire Department personnel transported an injured construction worker to Harrison Medical Center after a minor accident at a waterfront condominium site Monday afternoon.

BFD Capt. Jeff Childs, the incident commander at the scene, said the man was in stable condition but required spinal stabilization as a precaution. Childs said the man had fallen about ten feet to the third deck of a condominium being built on Washington Avenue.

Fire department officials said they were unsure how the fall occurred. A ladder truck and aid car responded to the scene at 12:25 p.m.

As the injured worker was removed from the upper floor of the building, he waved to onlookers standing across the street at the corner of Washington Avenue and Burwell Street, indicating he was OK. A firefighter on the scene said it was likely he had suffered a rib injury.
