Leadership Kitsap is accepting applications

Leadership Kitsap is now is accepting applications for its 2013-2014 class. The deadline is April 15.

Leadership Kitsap class participants are selected through a competitive screening/interview process conducted by the board of directors. A maximum of 32 individuals will be chosen based on criteria including the following: commitment to civic involvement in Kitsap County, potential for community leadership, and professional as well as personal achievement.

Now in its 20th year, Leadership Kitsap provides an opportunity for current and future leaders to gain insight into the issues, opportunities, strengths and challenges within Kitsap County. Leadership Kitsap offers its participants access to our community leaders, awareness and understanding of critical issues, and an in-depth overview of the systems that govern, serve and develop Kitsap County.

Leadership Kitsap consists of nine full day sessions held on the second Friday of each month from September through June. Class members attend sessions that cover a diverse range of community-related topics, including: government (both county and state); leadership development; community economics; environment and planning; healthy community; arts and recreation; and education

Leadership Kitsap has graduated more than 420 individuals who have invested over 205 hours of volunteerism; completing 73 community service projects which have touched the lives of thousands of Kitsap citizens.
