Fire destroys mobile home in Bremerton

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Kariotis Mobile Home Park in the 3000 block of NE McWilliams Road at about 3:11 p.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival firefighters observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the single wide mobile home. The heaviest fire was in the rear of the structure and flames were quickly showing through the roof as well.

Nobody was home at the time, but one cat is deceased and a second cat is missing.

Firefighters are currently checking for hot spots and overhauling the structure.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family and the county fire marshal will be investigating the cause of the blaze.

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue had three engines, one ladder truck and two medic units on scene. The Bremerton Fire Department also responded with one engine and one medic unit.
