Bremerton School Board of Education to meet this evening

Following a closed session, the Bremerton School District is expected to meet today at 5 p.m. to discuss several reports, a calendar of events and other agenda items.

The meeting will be held in the Administration Building Boardroom at 134 Marion Avenue North in Bremerton. The meeting is open to the public, and public input is welcome if the resident schedules a reserved spot prior to the meeting.

Reports will include the superintendent's, board reports and a general fund balance status for the 2012-2013 school year. There will also be discussion regarding the 2013-2014 budget.

Action items will also be discussed, including the Holly Ridge Center (HRC) Annual contract, which would allow the Bremerton School District to reimburse HRC for "services provided at the rate of 82 percent of the State Special Education per pupil allocation, birth to three," according to the 2013-2014 contract posted on the district's website. The center provides services to special needs students from birth through age three. The services will be offered for children residing within the Bremerton School District if the contract is approved by the school board members this evening.

The meeting is expected to last a little over an hour.
