World Changers come to Bremerton

A group of teenagers descending upon Bremerton next week will be cleaning up and improving local homes.

More than 200 kids will be arriving as part of the World Changers, a Southern Baptist mission group that includes students ranging from seventh-graders-to-be up to recent high school graduates and college students.

“We’re thinking around 200 kids,” said World Changers’ Meagan Medley. “We’re looking forward to coming to Bremerton.”

World Changers is part of the church’s North American Mission Board, and will be hosted by the local Olympic Baptist Association and the City of Bremerton.

A World Changers group just wrapped up another Northwest visit last week with a group of teens working in Spokane for several days. The Bremerton contingent arrives July 23 and will stay for a week at Bremerton Junior High School.

“We are just finishing up here (in Spokane),” Medley said. “It’s been a good time.”

This week, World Changers parties will travel to Casper, Wyo. and Duluth, Ga.

The group will be performing a number of duties in low-income Bremerton neighborhoods including repairing roofs, pouring concrete, putting up drywall, painting and planting flowers.
