See the creativity in action
July 4, 2008 · Updated 11:50 AM
Its one thing to see the finished art piece, quite another to see the artist flinging paint, wielding a chain saw or weaving a tapestry with their imagination in overdrive.
Visitors to the Louis Mentor Boardwalk from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today will catch a glimpse of Artists in Action, the first of what is hoped to be at the very least an annual event. It is sponsored by Bremerton Parks and Recreation and the West Sound Arts Council.
A lot of time people feel art is for people who are wealthy, but really art is for everyone, said Lynn Horton, president for the West Sound Arts Council.
Artists will be selling similar items to the ones they will demonstrate.
We wanted to do something hands on so people could learn about it at the same time, said Cynthia Engelau of Bremerton Parks and Recreation.
