Olympic Sports Center appoints new training director

Making its first significant soccer move, Olympic Sports Center, LLC (“OSC” or “The Center”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Donne to the position of Training Director.

Affectionately known as “Donney” to the soccer community, the General Partnership has entrusted Donne with developing its Rising Stars Academy, which develops soccer and life skills in children ages two to 10 years. Donne will also lead The Center’s training outreach for players looking to excel in the sport of soccer, premier level and community coaches, and those within the general community wanting to learn about the game of soccer.

“We could not be more excited to have a person of Michael Donne’s caliber within the coaching community to be joining our team,” stated Bill Wright, OSC’s Managing Partner. “Donne has been instrumental in breathing passion and a 'love of the game' back into the hearts of children and parents in Kitsap County. Michael Donne’s Rising Star Academy will be the initial planting of seeds in our youth that will begin to take this community by storm and produce ever increasing soccer talent in Kitsap County.”

Michael Donne arrives here from the beautiful Welsh countryside following a career both as a player and professional coach. Almost universally recognized as one of the most important and broadly credentialed young coaches to arrive in the U.S. in some time, Donne has developed teams that have rapidly and consistently risen through the ranks of Washington state youth soccer at the highest levels of play.

Donne holds numerous certifications, coaching licenses, and diplomas from organizations such as UEFA, USSF, and NSCAA. He most recently contributed greatly to the rejuvenation at WestSoundFC, Kitsap County’s Premier Regional Soccer Club, in his role as Director of Club Development over the past 3 years. During the transition, Donne will continue to coach two or three teams at WestSoundFC and will continue to be around to interact with the many families and friends he has made at that club.
