Bremerton man arrested for 85 grams of marijuana

An 18-year-old Bremerton man was arrested July 31 after a routine traffic stop where the Washington State Patrol trooper found the man in possession of 85 grams of marijuana.
A trooper was on patrol on Wheaton Way near Hollis Street in Bremerton when she observed a block Honda Civic make an improper lane change. She stopped the driver and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He denied having marijuana and was placed under arrest based on the odor, according to WSP.
Another trooper and his K-9 narcotic detection dog responded to the scene and searched the vehicle. The K-9 alerted on the trunk where troopers found a backpack containing nearly 85 grams of marijuana, packaging items and other miscellaneous things belonging to the driver. Troopers found $1,420 in cash on the driver, WSP said.
The driver was booked into Kitsap County Jail for felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
