The Bremerton School District (BSD) will hold a public forum to discuss the possibility of Bremerton High School’s Memorial Stadium being the home stadium for the Seattle Sounders soccer team.

The Sounders, of the United Soccer Leagues (USL), are looking to relocate to the Peninsula and approached the district about renting the stadium for between 12 and 15 games next season. Generally played Saturday evenings, USL games run from May to September.

The district will present information about a possible agreement and wants the community’s input.

“We’re trying to see if this would be a good fit for our community,” BSD Spokeswoman Krista Carlson said Thursday.

The meeting will be at Bremerton High School, beginning 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.

For more information, please contact the district’s business office, (360) 473-1031.
