Bremerton to host health and safety expo

The City of Bremerton will host the 2008 West Sound Safety & Health Expo, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Kitsap Conference Center and boardwalk at the Bremerton waterfront.

Free and open to the public, the event is designed to educate both youth and adults on the importance of health and safety.

Indoor and outdoor exhibits, including equipment and supplies that promote health and safety at both home and work, and a “Kids Zone” are among the scheduled activities.

Safe Kids Kitsap County will be on hand 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, performing bicycle helmet and life vest fitting. Helmets and vests will be available for a nominal fee while supplies last.

Free parking and shuttle from the Olympic College parking lot, 1600 Chester Avenue, running every 20 minutes, also will be available.
