The Bremerton School District (BSD) Board of Directors is expected to meet for a study session at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 to discuss the superintendent search process.

BSD Superintendent Bette Hyde announced she is leaving the district to pursue another career opportunity at the end of the school year.

That announcement effectively ended the battle between community members and the Bremerton School District Board of Directors over how long Hyde should remain superintendent after being rehired in August on an interim basis, which came just months after Hyde retired last April.

Also on the agenda, BSD Finance and Operations Director Wayne Lindberg will provide an update on improving student achievement through timing and transportation.

The study session will be hosted in the board room at the BSD office, located at 134 N. Marion Ave.
