A 20-year-old Fort Lewis man was arrested after a crash Thursday night that injured a Bainbridge Island woman, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP).

WSP said the 20-year-old man, in a Mercury Mountaineer, was turning left on northbound State Route 303 at NE Bentley Drive in East Bremerton at 9:45 p.m. when he ran a red light.

The 50-year-old Bainbridge Island woman, driving a Kia Optima, went through a green light in the southbound lanes of State Route 303 and T-boned the man's car, according to WSP.

The woman had a dislocated and fractured right ankle and was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for treatment. The 20-year-old was uninjured and fled on foot.

He was later apprehended and the southbound lanes of State Route 303 were blocked for 2 1/2 hours.

It is unknown whether or not intoxicants were a factor in the crash, according to WSP.

The man was arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail for felony hit and run. His bail is set at $25,000.
