Those interested in serving on the Bremerton School Board can apply before the end of the month.
Former Board Member Louis Mitchell resigned in February, leaving open his seat on the five-person panel which oversees the district. The candidate selected to fill the position would sit until the November 2011 scheduled election.
A closed board meeting is scheduled for April 15 prior to the board announcing finalists, according to information provided by the district.
Another closed meeting is scheduled for April 22, but final interviews and the selection are to be held in open session.
The selection will also take place April 22.
The new member's first meeting and oath of office is scheduled for May 6.
Applicants are required to be a resident of the district, a citizen of the U.S. and a registered voter in Kitsap County.
For questions or to receive a packet call (360) 473-1031 or e-mail ioanna.cossack@bsd.wednet.edu.
The deadline for applications is March 31.
